Loving & Kindness Meditation

"May I be filled with loving kindness. May I be well. May I be peaceful and at ease. May I be happy".

Ancient Tibetan Buddhist - Meditation.

Here, some discussion and 4 Introductions to "Loving-kindness" meditation with Gil Fronsdal:

An interesting text (slightly paraphrased) from Jack Kornfield’s meditation:

May I be filled with loving kindness. May I be well. May I be peaceful and at ease. May I be happy. This meditation uses simple, repeated phrases to evoke loving-kindness and friendliness towards oneself and others. You can experiment with this practice to see if it is useful to you. Ideally, one would repeat it over and over for ten to fifteen to twenty minutes once or twice daily in a quiet place for several months” (the entire term). (I just started practicing this while driving and am LOVING it.) “At first, this meditation may feel mechanical or awkward, or even bring up its opposite – feelings of irritation and anger. If this happens, it is especially important to be patient and kind toward yourself, allowing whatever arises to be received in a spirit of friendliness and kind affection (!). In its own time, even in the face of inner difficulties, loving-kindness will develop. In this meditation, we begin with ourselves, because without loving yourself it is almost impossible to truly love others. Practice this meditation repeatedly for the time of your choosing, until the sense of loving-kindness for yourself grows!”

We hope you have enjoyed some (if any) of the meditations gathered here. If you feel like making any comment or joining our forums please don't be shy.
