"RAIN of Self-Compassion" by Meg James (Insight Timer) - Review below.
Day Six, Wednesday, Feb 21st, 2018.
"Breathing Compassion In and Out", by Christopher Germer (Insight Timer)
Day Five, Tuesday, Feb 20th, 2018.
"Compassion Meditation" by Mathew Sockolov (Insight Timer)
Day Four, Monday, Feb 19th, 2018.
"Giving and Receiving Compassion" by Kathleen Cator (Insight Timer)
Day Three, Sunday, Feb 18th, 2018.
"Compassion for Self and Others" by Christopher Germer (Insight Timer) - A very informal and casual but gentle and well guided meditation. I like the way it's led by letting the first person (or persons) who comes to your mind first and after (watching the person to appear spontaneously - without selecting one), wishing him/her good vibes: "May you too be very happy and free from suffering." And without judging yourself when your mind eventually drifts off (as it will!) and with a gesture of love & kindness you come back to wish the same to yourself. A lovely way of connecting to yourself, to your body and to others as well. Also, this lovely wish to yourself and others: "Give yourself (or that person) a breath".
Day Two, Saturday, Feb 17th, 2018.
"Rain of Self-Compassion" by Meg James (Insight Timer) - It starts with a brief body-scan leading to the "heart space, noticing if there are any feelings or sensations present... giving yourself permission to feel whatever it is you are feeling... allowing yourself to be... knowing that there are no right or wrong feelings... letting go of any judgements or resistances." A very well paced meditation guided by a calming, paced, gentle and soothing voice
Day One, Friday, Feb 16th, 2018.
Part of "Seven Day of Self-Esteem from Calm. It starts by defining self-esteem & self-confidence. Self-Esteem "is based in how much we value ourselves and how confident we feel in life". ...t's different from self-confidence as it is wrapped up in our ability to do something successfully. Self-Esteem is our sense of how worth and capable we are and refers to the extent ... to be liked, accepted, and approved by ourselves [that we hold about ourselves]. We all have high opinions of certain aspects of ourselves and lower opinions of other aspects... but the question is: Where those opinions come from?"
A good guided meditation from Calm - it doesn't say whom it is by? A good meditation practice guided with a gentle and calming voice. Like the self reflection of what brings us to do such a practice? What do we need to be aware of regarding our self-acceptance, our self-worthiness with a non-judgemental attitude?
